Book Review: Surfacing by Margaret Atwood
I recently finished my first ever Margaret Atwood, and I must say I am hooked. Her writing is sharp and filled with layered meaning. I will be looking out for her books in the future, and I’m dying to read her much talked about ‘Hand Maids Tale’ that has been made into an, also much talked about, TV series.
Surfacing is the story of a young artist venturing back to her childhood home, a remote cabin on an island in northern Quebec, to search for her missing father. A suspense and psychological thriller with a softer, less anxiety inducing tempo – my kind of thriller.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – five stars, this was an excellent read! I was left thinking about the story for days after finishing it.
