Parenting is allowed to feel hard.
You don’t have to have all the answers to be a good parent. Sometimes it helps to talk things through with someone who understands that family life is complicated, tiring, funny and full of love.
A place to bring the things you’re carrying
Parenting advice can make you feel as though there is one right way to do everything. There isn’t. Your child is a person, you are a person, and your family has its own story.
I offer one-to-one, Aware Parenting-inspired mentorship for mothers who want space to think, ask questions and find their feet again. I work with families in South Africa and worldwide. We can talk about the practical things, the emotional things, and the things that are difficult to say out loud. I won’t hand you a list of rules or tell you what you should be doing. We’ll start with what is actually happening in your home, and what matters to you.
This is not therapy, clinical care or a parenting programme. It is supportive conversation with someone in your corner.
What we might explore
Making sense of your days
The relentless parts of parenting, the friction points, and the patterns that leave everyone feeling wrung out.
Children’s big feelings
Ways to stay close and steady when your child is having a hard time, without expecting either of you to be perfect.
Motherhood and identity
The version of you that existed before children, the version that arrived afterwards, and the ordinary work of holding both.
Family rhythms
Sleep, food, transitions, school, siblings and the small practical changes that can make home feel more manageable.
Our conversations will follow your family’s needs. You may come with one clear issue, or simply with the sense that something needs attention.
Is this for you? This may be a good fit if you:
Want thoughtful support without judgement or one-size-fits-all advice
Are trying to parent in a way that feels true to your family, even when it looks different from those around you
Feel tired, stuck, overwhelmed or unsure, and would value someone to think alongside you
Live in South Africa or anywhere in the world, and prefer virtual support
Want practical conversation that still makes room for the emotional reality of being a parent

A note from me...
I’m Christine Powell Drew, a mother of four, traditionally trained midwife, qualified doula and someone who cares deeply about mothers being supported to trust themselves.
My approach is deeply inspired by Aware Parenting and the work of Aletha Solter and Marion Rose. I am currently training to become an Aware Parenting instructor.
I know that parenting can bring up more questions than we expected. I also know how much it can help to speak to someone who will listen properly, without trying to take over.
I offer the kind of support I’ve often wished more mothers had around them: warm, practical, honest and rooted in respect for you and your child.
