The shiny possibility a new year holds… I know I am not the only one who will be quite glad to see the back of 2023.
At the same time, however, I am not a lover of the ‘new year, new me’ mindset.
Inspired by my inner work for my Aware Parenting instructor training and further inspired by the work of Marion Rose, I have been on a deep journey of self-compassion. I am no longer willing to set unrealistic goals and targets that inflict coercion on myself and ultimately shame when they remain unattainable.
It has also become clear to me that a woman’s strive for perfection and ideal is a construct of the patriarchy which, as Bethany Webster puts it, ‘This belief in the ‘female defect’ keeps women on a never-ending wheel of self-improvement, constantly working to meet an impossible standard of what a ‘desirable woman’ ought to be’ (from Discovering the Inner Mother by Bethany Webster).
I invite you to join me in being gentle with yourself in 2024. Deep down, we always know our next steps, our innate sense of direction guiding us through life. However, amid the chaos, that sense of purpose can sometimes get lost.
That’s precisely why I’ve crafted the 2024 By Design workbook, with you in mind.
This workbook isn’t about imposing unrealistic resolutions. It’s about nurturing clarity amidst the chaos, reigniting your inner sense of direction, and designing 2024 to be a year that aligns with your deepest desires and aspirations.

‘Many people think they lack motivation when what they really lack is clarity. It is not always obvious when and where to take action. Some people spend their entire lives waiting for the time to be right to make an improvement.’ – James Clear
